Come down the rabbit hole with Alice to a land of zany adventures where nothing is as it seems in this brand-new version of Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic. From the Cheshire Cat to the Mad Hatter, it’s a magical, entertaining musical for the whole family – not just the children!

Director Holly Lessing is seeking the following:

8+ Adult/Teen Males (ages: 13 – 70’s)
6+ Adult/Teen Females (ages: 13 – 70’s)

Alice

13 +

is a spunky girl who enjoys adventures and is on a journey of self-discovery. You should be charming to the audience, very inquisitive and be able to command the stage by yourself. (Alto) (solo & ensemble singing)

The Queen of Hearts / Alice’s Mother

Adult female

is a childish, foul-tempered monarch, who is quick to give death sentences at even the slightest of offenses/Loving mother, busy with tea party plans. (Mezzo Soprano/big, soulful gospel voice) (ensemble singing)

The Mad Hatter

Adult Male

is the life of the tea party and should be performed by someone who enjoys acting larger than life. You need to be comfortable being silly and creative with facial expressions and vocal musicality (Tenor) (solo & ensemble singing)

The White Rabbit

Adult Male

is an energetic, worrisome character that hardly ever stops moving. (ensemble singing)

March Hare / King of Hearts

Adult Male

the counterpart to the Mad Hatter who also enjoys a good party. A little less crazy than the Mad Hatter/belittled by the Queen. (Baritone/Bass) (solo & ensemble singing)

Door Mouse / Tap Dancing Card

the third member of the Tea Party Guys, always sleepy (solo & ensemble singing)

Cheshire Cat / Tap Dancing Card

is mysterious, mischievous, unpredictable, and cool (Bariton/ jazzy, smooth tone) (solo & ensemble singing)

Tweedle Dee/Loreena (Alice’s Sister)

Female

a goofball similar to old comedy teams like Abbott & Costello or Laurel & Hardy/Caring older sister. (Alto) (solo & ensemble singing)

Caterpillar

The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm

July 19th through August 4th.

NOTES FOR AUDITIONS:

Please prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song that best shows off your vocal ability. Be prepared to move, all auditioners will participate in the dance portion. Tap auditions will take place at callbacks by invite only. If you have any questions, please contact Holly at vp_marketing@svptheatre.org.
